Vizio blu ray player wifi problems

Blu-ray won't play discs. Although all Blu-ray players are tested to meet certain compliance guidelines, all discs are created using a broad base of different formats.

This can cause issues when trying to play certain discs. Each movie studio has the ability to use a combination of different formats for audio and video that may cause the disc to be incompatible with the Blu-ray player that you are trying to use.

This problem may not occur on every model or brand of Blu-ray player. One manufacturer's Blu-ray player may play a disc that yours may not and your Blu-ray player may play discs that others will not. If you have a disc that is not playing in your VIZIO Blu-ray player you can try the following: Check the Parental Control Level settings to ensure that the Parental Controls are not blocking the disc from being played.

Make sure the disc is not badly scratched, dirty or smudged. Ensure that you have the most recent firmware update available if your Blu-ray player has firmware available. Was this page helpful? All my blue ray movies are glitching throughout the movie.

I've unplugged the power cable for a time. Made sure I have good connections with the hdmi cable Still nothing. I actually have another hub about this. Just click my name and go through my profile. I don't think HubPages lets me post links in the Comments section. You may have bigger problems. If possible, try exchanging it at the store where you bought it.

If that's not an option, contact Vizio and see if it's still covered by any manufacturer's warranty. I can't find anywhere to update the firmware for the Vizio VBR I have already returned 2.

They just keep swapping them out. But those issues were within 30 days. This player I have had for 6 months. My issue now is it acts like it isn't even a Blu Ray player anymore. The disc spins for a minute then ejects. I tried different discs, old and new. Even discs that previously worked. Everybody I talk to says to update it..

But I can't find anywhere to do that on the site or under support. We don't have any Disney DVDs around the house -- yet, lol.

I did some digging around and it looks like a lot of people have problems with these discs, but I didn't find a solution. It sounds silly, but try using a different type of cable.

For example, if you're using an HDMI cable try using a component cable and vice versa. All other DVDs in my collection work just fine, however. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks for the input, Max. The unit has never overheated that I'm aware of, but when I first got it Christmas , it wouldn't play some of the newest BD titles I had, so I had to update firmware, and it has been like that ever since. It might still be under warranty; I'll check. It sounds like there are some major internal issues with the player.

I think you're best bets to call Vizio and see if it's still under warranty. If it is, see if they'll replace it. If resetting it doesn't bring it back to at least normalcy, it's got much bigger problems. How long have you had it? There's a chance that it may have overheated for an extended period of time, which could have resulted in the internal hardware melting, which can cause problems such as this.

Upon turning my VBR on, it powers on and off for about 20 minutes before finally coming on and working normally. I've tried pulling the power cord for up to an hour at a time, but this has had no effect. The last firmware update was June , and now the player no longer even gives the option of checking for updates. Try resetting your Blu-ray player by unplugging the power cord.

Wait for 30 seconds and then reconnect the power cable to the AC outlet. Power on your Blu-ray player. Try setting up your Wi-Fi again and see if it's still having problems. Also, checking to make sure the Blu-ray player is trying to communicate with the right wireless network. For example, if you have neighbors, you or someone else could have gone into the Wi-Fi settings and selected their network instead of yours, and because their network probably isn't as strong, you'll have issues connecting.

I suspect resetting your player by disconnecting the power cable will resolve your problems. If that still doesn't work, try updating the firmware. It may be a quirk that Vizio has released a patch for. Any suggestions?
